Bracelets of the Day - No.1

I just thought I would share a jewellery combination that I have been loving recently. I would say that bracelets are my favourite way too accessorise - I find them so easy to wear and I love to layer them. Also, I have been obsessed with the cross trend that has been around for a while but I have always been too scared to go all out with a cross embellished dress! Therefore, I think that incorporating some crosses into my jewellery is a safe compromise.

I have bought quite a few jewellery pieces recently so if you would like to see them, please leave a comment.

L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Review

As a big fan of L'Oreal mascaras, when Cheryl Cole popped onto the TV fluttering her eyelashes, I got rather excited. I love the original Telescopic mascara and the promise of a "false lash effect" was too good to resist.

The packaging is very similar to the original Telescopic, however, it is silver instead of a matte gold. I much prefer the new packaging. The main difference is the brush, the original is very thin with small plastic bristles, whereas the new version tapers into the middle. This makes it much easier to use and I find much more volumising and curling.

The effect that the new brush gives is incredible, my lashes were so voluminous and curled. The original mascara is much more defining and lengthening but I absolutely love the new one!

To be honest, both of these mascaras are amazing, it really depends on what you are looking for when buying a new one. I personally prefer the False Lash Telescopic because I love my lashes to look dramatic but the original is still very good. I got it from Boots for £10.99 - a bit pricey for a drugstore mascara but completely "worth it".

Topshop Love

It's fair to say that Topshop is my favourite high street shop, ever. I love the "just-off-the-catwalk" style and at a fraction of the catwalk price I just think it is amazing. However, recently Topshop has been disappointing me, yes I was still buying things from there occassionally but my love had certainly lessened, I found myself heading to Urban Outfitters and American Apparel before my beloved Topshop. But I am delighted to announce that Topshop and I are back together ...

Their spring range is in!

Obviously these items don't really go together but I think the coral jumper and the jeans would look so cute with white Converse! I will be definitely checking out these items next time I am in town.

What is your favourite spring range out so far?

Nail of the Day - You don't know Jacques? by OPI

OPI has become my new nail obsession, I did a post a couple of days ago on an OPI set that I bought and I have fallen in love with several of the colours. One of my favourite being You don't know Jacques? which is originally from the La Collection De France. It's a beautiful dark taupe which I decided to wear on New Years Eve but I added a twist ...

I added a stripe of Rage by Orly on my ring finger and I really like the edgy effect that it gives. Both these polishes are amazing and they have lasted so well, I also got a few compliments on my nails while at a New Years party, although I did go round showing people my nails because I was so proud of them ... but that still counts?

I love this nail combination and I will be definitely trying out similar combinations this year!

Mac Eyeshadow Starter Kit

Going into Mac can be pretty intimidating, the huge selection of products and the "I'm pretty and I know it" make up artists that work there, can make you want to run away and never come back. Yes, the girls who work there are usually very helpful and friendly but fighting up the courage to ask them for help is (in my experience) terrifying. I always find that knowing what I am looking for before I go in helps.

Mac eyeshadows are possibly Mac's most famous product. The colour range is truly incredible and the quality is almost always amazing. I have chosen four of my favourite colours, which incidentally are some of their most famous colours, to include in my Mac Starter Kit and I think for a Mac beginner they're are an excellent place to start.

l-r   vapour, satin taupe, woodwinked, carbon

These colours are very versatile and many looks can be created with them: the smokey eye and a very natural everyday look I expect being the most desirable. All the colours look good on all skin tones, however, vapour could be swapped with something like rice paper for a darker skin tone.

Sorry the photo isn't very good, woodwinked looks very orange! It's not really, it's a lovely gold. The quality and pigmentation of all these eyeshadows is fantastic and I would highly recommend them as your first Mac purchase.

What are your favourite Mac eyeshadows?
